Today’s Simple Nature Sketch
I am sure the neighbors heard me squeal yesterday afternoon, when I made this discovery! I planted this vine about 4 years ago and each year an abundance of greenery would grow, but not a bloom would arrive. I had almost given up hope, thinking I should just plant it somewhere else for greenery.
Well mother nature is often full of surprises. While cleaning up my flower beds I caught a glimpse of these bright orange blooms close to the ground. I pulled out a long vine and there at the end was a cluster of these trumpet flowers. I was in total disbelief and delighted all at the same time.
It reminded me of life; sometimes patience is required for dreams to bloom into fruition.

Today’s Simple Nature Sketch
Signs of autumn have been creeping forth. I am in complete denial that summer is drawing to a close. I will be hanging on to every last bit of summer and her beautiful bounty.
I found these tiny black berries in a wooded area in our backyard. They are wildly growing in a random way; reaching for pockets of light. Most of the day they receive only glimpses of sunlight, as a tree cover shadows their growth. Just the same, they are determined to produce a small sampling of deep colored fruit.
I love how small bits of sunlight twinkle on these shiny skinned berries; brightening the ground around them with color and cheer.
Warmly,
Debbie
