Today’s Simple Nature Sketch

Although it is still snowy outside, we are getting closer to spring. The days are starting to get longer,  giving more daylight hours. It will be so wonderful to see green and a rainbow of colors  when the earth comes to life again.

In the meantime, we are fortunate to have springtime flowers in shops and supermarkets. I don’t think I could survive the winter without surrounding my space with fresh blooms. They brighten the gray days of winter and bring hope that spring is indeed coming.

“Spring is when you feel like whistling even with a shoe full of slush.”

~Doug Larson

How about you? Do you enjoy fresh flowers during the winter season?

I recently ordered a few seed packets from Floret Flower Farm in Washington, USA. I follow Erin Benzakein on Instagram and Facebook.  She and her team are amazing, creating so much beauty that is quite breathtaking!

I am so excited to have just received my seeds and will be sharing a few packets with my dad, who is still gardening at 85 yrs. old.  Shhhh dad doesn’t know that I will be sharing these with him yet.

I would have loved to order some bulbs as well, but because of regulations, they are not able to ship them to Canada.  Erin also has a book coming out really soon. I am just getting ready to place my order for one before the publishing date. The book looks absolutely beautiful and filled with practical gardening tips.

I’m really looking forward to reading  Erin’s new book and to see what our seeds will produce this summer! Okay, if you haven’t guessed, I’m definitely ready for the growing season to appear! lol
